Have you ever been to a Colorful Umbrella Street?
INSTAGRAMMABLE UMBRELLA STREETS AROUND THE WORLD! PIN THESE FOR LATER!
Umbrella Streets around the world: I love the new initiatives cities around the world have taken to attract tourism and make cities stand out. It’s simply using colorful umbrellas in alleys or not so busy streets giving the locals and tourists a nice background for pics!
Here are some things to consider before you head out to these iconic sites:
- First…. You’ll probably won’t be the only one heading there. So…. arrive early to avoid the crowds! Or go in off hours…
- Second…. Take a Tripod with you so you can take pics.
- Lastly…. Record a video and do screenshots, if you don’t find anyone to take your pic. Also good for having pics with different angles!
Umbrella Street in Athens, Greece
This umbrella Alley is located in the heart of Athens! You can find it on the wonderful Pittaki Street full of vibrant restaurants and businesses. I stumble upon this street on my way to get food from my Hostel in Athens. Very artsy neighborhood full of authentic Greek Vibes! Make sure to check out Little Kook and Mary Poppins bakery right across the street!
Umbrella Street in Istanbul, Turkey
Istanbul doesn’t fall behind with their vibrant umbrellas! Take the train across the river (but still in the European side) and walk a few blocks through the streets of Karaköy. You’ll be able to find this beautiful setting in the middle of coffee shops and restaurants,

Umbrella Street in Bodrum, Turkey
Almost missed this place walking around Bodrum. Located in an alley of a restaurant, this place has such a nice vibe AND didn’t have a line! If you are walking around town and you are not paying attention you might just miss it!
Calle de las Sombrillas Old San Juan, Puerto Rico
La Calle de las Sombrillas en El Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico takes you back in time with their cobblestone streets. In this dynamic ”old town” you will dance to the music, smell the amazing food and wander for hours in the most energetic part of the city! It might be called OLD SAN JUAN for it’s preserved elements from colonial times, but definitely shows how rich Puerto Rico’s Culture is!
Umbrella Streets in Koh Phangan Thailand
Oh Thailand! One of my favorite places in the world. This picture was caught prior the well-known FULL MOON PARTY. It welcomes visitors in the pier with it’s colorful umbrellas. Check it out whether you are staying in the island or just stopping by on the way to this Epic Party! (More on this party later 😉)
