Randyland: Pittsburgh’s Colorful Landmark
When I travel, I’m not one to jump onto seeing the super touristy landmarks. I rather take an off beaten path approach and this is how I got to stumble upon the Randyland Pittsburgh Museum! Randyland is an outdoor museum/ art gallery located in the middle of Pittsburgh’s colorful Mexican War Streets neighborhood. Randy has been here since the 90’s, initially working full time on his 9 to 5 job and then spending his free time day building his dream.
Everyone is welcomed and if you have the chance to see him during your visit he will make you feel like family, sharing his story with everyone. Everything in this place has been donated or recycled, people thought he was crazy for going through trash and using it to create his vision. The intention of Randyland is to be a sanctuary, inspiration and rehab to people from all walks of life.
Reasons to visit the Randyland Museum:
- Photo op by the hundreds
- Kids/Family friendly
- Wheelchair accessible
- FREE/ GRATIS – but donations are always welcome!
- Live Performances
