The Wash and Go!
I used to be set in this hairstyle (mainly because I didn’t know how to do others!😬😓 ) but also for the convenience of it. As long as you figure out what products work best for your type of natural hair (low or high porosity!) and you master the technique to enhance your curls, this look will definitely make you POP!
The Pros: This look will make you look FRESH.
The Cons: For ME, the wash and go’s only last ONE day. So, I have to apply product and refresh with water daily for the curls to bounce back. Also, it is time consuming when you are trying to be out and about on vacation.
Simple Hairstyle for Natural Hair
The Pineapple!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEEE this hairstyle! As soon as my TWA ( that’s Teeny Weeny Afro for those of you that don’t speak the Lingo 😉) was long enough to put it up in a Pineapple it was game over! This easy up do has saved me, on countless occasions, both time and patience. Sometimes, you don’t even need Gel or product to rock this style.
The Pros: Time Saving and effortless style.
The Cons: None in my book.
Curly “Fro” Afro
The BIGGER the hair the HARDER they stare! Sometimes you are just in the mood to wear your crown just as is and that will POP! Bring your confidence and don’t let the haters ruin your vibe.
The Pros: No matter the size of your afro, it symbolizes your crown.
The Cons: NONE. NADA. Wear your crown with pride, Queen.

SHOULD I GET BOX BRAIDS FOR MY VACATION?
Box Braids
This is one of the styles that I would say don’t knock it until you try it. I always thought that it would look awful on me, until I gain the courage to get it. I Absolutely LOVE this hairstyle! It frames your face and keeps hair maintenance to a minimum. Making it one of the best Hairstyles for Vacation if you want to save time getting ready!
The Pros: Minimum hair maintenance and care. Always picture ready. It lasts for weeks!
The Cons: It takes THE LONGEST TIME to get this done. You need to book 1-2 days depending on length, style and braider. But absolutely worth the results. If not taken proper care (even the bare minimum) they could become unraveled quickly.
Crotchet Braids
Not to be confused with box braids, Crotchet braids are also a great natural hairstyle alternative when trying to save time with getting ready. These come in a variety of styles but the principle is the same. Your hair gets cornrowed and then the installation of the braids (that may or may not be pre-looped) will be done with a special crotchet hook.
The Pros: Shorter time of installation than Box Braids. Could be done in 2-3hrs. Versatility of styles and lenght.
The Cons: Depending on the hair quality it could last less than box braids.
Passion Spring Twists
Can you believe that I actually braided my own hair? This is the easiest and quickest style I’ve ever gotten! Feels very light and is not too heavy making it best for workouts and to minimize getting ready time.
The Pros: Easy to get. Least time spent. Very light on weight.
The Cons: Might unravel quicker than other styles. Making it not as long lasting.
Big Havana Twists
These twists will make your life easier. Taking less time than the Box Braids, you can rock this style in 2-3 hours.
The Pros: Lightweight. Easy to maintain.
The Cons: Not as long lasting. Easy to untwist at the roots.
