Have you ever wanted to experience one of those POP-UP interactive museums that are all over the ‘Gram?
Until you realize it costs $40+ to get in?
Firstly… Let me tell ya! While I was walking around Karaköy in Istanbul, I noticed this sign that said “Happy Hour TR”.
***Oh! They must have drink specials. Let me go check it out.***
*Walks in and approaches counter*
Me: Is this a bar?
Hostess: *Laughs* No, it’s a museum.
HAPPY HOUR TR: WHAT IT IS
Happy Hour TR consists in individually designed rooms where the guests can experience art in different ways. Each room is filled with well thought colors, textures and props, being the first of it’s kind to arrive to Turkey. Some rooms might not be in the obvious places so keep your eyes open for the unexpected!
COST
It only costs TL$65 to visit this interactive museum which translates to ~USD$10. A STEAL!
HOW TO GET THERE
Located in Bereketzade Mahallesi, 6 Kule Çıkmazı No:13 Galata Kulesi . Happy Hour Tr is near the Galata Kulesi/ Karakoy area. If you are visiting the Galata tower it’s just minutes away.
HAPPY HOUR VISITING HOURS
Tuesday-Friday: 11:00 to 7:00PM; Weekends: Noon – 8:00PM; Closed on Mondays. So plan accordingly!
PRO TIP: Can you believe I took ALL these photos by myself? If you are traveling Solo, like I was, grab one of these tripods that will help you record your experience.
Lastly… What started as a search for drinks turned into a fun afternoon enjoying the Happy Hour Tr exhibition, WITHOUT the overpriced tag. I definitely recommend to visit if you ever see yourself in Turkey.
I did end up finding a bar, but THAT’S a story for another day 😉
